Liana. Brownand smooth rhytidome. Cylindrical branches, not winged, reddish; branches, leaves, petioles, inflorescences, hypanthium and fruits with malpighiaceous persistent trichomes. Leaves opposites isophyllous; petiole slightly channelled 1.2–1.6 cm long; leaf blades 12.9–16.8 × 6.7–8.9 cm, coriaceous, concolorous, symmetrical, elliptic, base cuneate, apex slightly acuminate, margins entire and ciliate, adaxial side glabrous, sometimes with trichomes only in the central vein, abaxial surface with malpighiaceous persistent trichomes, higher concentration in the leaf veins and margins, leaf veins 7, basal; ant domatia absent. Paniculate ca. 13.8 × 8.4 cm, terminal; bracts ca. 9.6 mm long, oblong, caducous. Flowers 5-merous; pedicel ca. 4.2 mm long; hypanthium ca. 5.8 mm long, urceolate, striate; calyx persistent; petals ca. 7.5 × 5.1 mm, pinkish, obovate, symmetrical, apex rounded, base attenuate, margins not ciliate, glabrous; stamens 10, heteromorphic, anthers ca. 3.5 mm long, lanceolate, curved, apex attenuate, 1 subapical pore, connective not prolonged, with ventral bilobed appendage; filament 4.3–6.2 mm long, glabrous; ovary ca. 3.2 mm long, superior, placentation axillary, 5-locular, glabrous; style 6.2 mm long, straight, glabrous. Capsule ca. 7.7 × 6 mm, unripe fruit; seeds numerous, triangular.

Specimens examined: — BRAZIL. Amazonas, Manaus, RDS-Tupé, 21 September 2013, fr., A.L. Corrêa 278 (EAFM!, HUAM!, INPA!).

Additional specimens examined: — BRAZIL. Amazonas , Manaus, 14 November 1966, fl., G. T. Prance et al. s/n ( INPA!) ; 26 November1966, fl., M. Falcão & Pe. José 146 ( INPA!) .

Distribution: —This species is endemic to Brazil, where it occurs in Amazonian forests (Lima et al. 2015). In the reserve, it occurs in “terra firme”, along streams.

Comments: —This s pecies is rare in the reserve. It can be recognized by the malpighiaceous trichomes that are widely distributed through the plant.
