Range: —Central Brazil and Bolivia (BE, CO, LP, SC).
Ecology: —Uncommon; saxicolous in semihumid to humid forests, usually on sandstone, often near streams and waterfalls; 300–1300 m.
Notes: —Blades 1-pinnate or ternate. Closely resembles juvenile plants of A. radiata , and the distinction between them is not always straightforward. This species has historically been treated as A. monticola (Gardner) T.Moore , which is restricted to the Goias / Tocantins area in Brazil ( Link-Pérez & Hickey 2011).
