Stethynium gladius Girault 1915: 162 . Type locality: Australia, Queensland, Gordonvale. Stethynium gladius: Dahms 1984: 651 (type data).

Allanagrus gladius: Lin et al. 2007: 22 (generic transfer).

Type material. Holotype female (QMBA), uncleared and poorly mounted, under a broken cover slip with the type (under its own broken cover slip) of another mymarid species, both on one broken slide labelled as shown ( Fig. 17) and illustrated ( Fig. 18).

Redescription. Female (holotype). Length 750 µm ( Fig. 18). Body yellow with darker areas as described by Girault, whose description of colour differs significantly from colour pattern now visible on the holotype since the specimen was fresh and perhaps not yet slide mounted.

Head width 170. Scape about 2.26× as long as wide, about 2.0× as long as pedicel; fl1 the shortest and fl3 the longest segment; fl1 about 0.6× as long as fl2; fl2 0.8× as long as fl3; fl4 1.1× as long as fl5; fl6 1.45× as long as wide; clava 3.2× as long as wide, with 6 mps. Mesosoma 1.8× as long as metasoma. Fore wing 4.35× as long as wide; longest marginal seta 0.62× wing width. Hind wing 23.1× as long as wide; longest marginal seta 3.9× wing width.

Ovipositor 2.50× metatibia length, distinctly exserted beyond apex of gaster ( Fig. 18).

Measurements (µm) of holotype. Antennal segment length/width: scape 78/34; pedicel, 40/33; fl1, 21/18; fl2, 36/23; fl3, 43/24; fl4, 41/26; fl5, 38/23; fl6, 39/27; clava, 142/45. Mesosoma length 254. Fore wing length 703, width 162, longest marginal seta 100; hind wing length 610, width 26, longest marginal seta 102; metasoma length 459; ovipositor length 662, exserted part 243; metatibia length 265.
