EOO: 81.461 km 2. AOO: 16.000 km 2. IUCN Assessment: Data Deficient

This species is distributed in Brazil in the Central-West, Northeast, North and Southeast regions ( BFG 2015). Only four populations of A. campestris were found in RN, which occur in the western part of state in mountain environments of Caatinga, where the plants generally grow in the shade. The nearest conservation unit is more than 110 km from the populations, which may put them at risk. However, due to the lack of data, this species was classified as DD. The species might be restricted to high elevation environments (over 400 m elevation) because it was not recorded at lower elevations in the state. The wet climate and deep soils of the region favor agriculture and livestock practices, which could threaten the habitat of this species.
