Description ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES1–3 ). Wingspan 11–12 mm. Head smooth covered with shiny reddish yellow scales; frons slightly lighter.Antenna light beige; scape with distal end brownish; flagellum with dark brown rings. Labial palpus whitish with brown scales; apical segment with dark reddish brown scales. Thorax shiny ochreous, tegulae dark ochreous. Forewing yellowish-brown, with basal quarter clearly darker, brown, framed by a blackish transverse line outwards; just beyond this line a distinct black dot on the costal edge; dark oblique fascia, not reaching costal margin, near the middle of wing length; apical third with longitudinal light streak; cilia light brown. Hindwing dark ochreous, somewhat darkened apically; cilia dark brown. Legs yellowish white with dark brown rings. Abdomen shining fuscous.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 4–7 ). Brachia asymmetrical; right brachium larger, claw-shaped and more sclerotized; left brachium short and blunt.Anellus lobe 2–3 times length of aedeagus, wide and rounded. Valva more or less straight, with narrow basal third and wide rounded apical part. Aedeagus very short and cylindrical. Pleural lobes rounded; space between them U-shaped.
Female genitalia. Unknown.
Distribution. Korea (new record), China, Malaysia.
Biology. Abrus precatorius [ Fabaceae ], Gossypium sp. and Hibiscus rostellatus [ Malvaceae ] are noted as host plants ( Ghesquière 1940), but these records most likely refer to other, externally similar Afrotropical representatives of the genus.
