Anax fumosus celebense Lieftinck, 1942 is here elevated to species rank, A. celebensis Lieftinck, 1942 , stat. rev. on the basis of its high S3 Index vs the low S3 Index of A. fumosus fumosus . Calculated on the basis of measurements given by Lieftinck (1942) the S3 Index of A. celebensis is 5.00 vs 2.96 in A. fumosus .
