Diagnosis. In both sexes, T1 has a flat or smooth microsculpture with PPs that are more evident than in the nominate subspecies, although they are small. Following the terga are PPs that are deeper than those on T1.

Comment. After this revision, we can say that the character of the intensity of the microsculpture of T1 does not have intermediate forms in these subspecies. However, as observed in other species, it becomes variable and is not recommended for the designation of a species. In the case of this subspecies, this attribute is accepted, but noted as questionable. There were no other features that differentiated them, so a more comprehensive study of A. niveata lecana is required, along with the use of alternative techniques to determine whether it corresponds to a subspecies or is a synonym.
