Remarks. In revising the Hoplandrena of East Asia, Xu & Tadauchi (2005) examined all relevant type material with the exception of A. romankovae which was described from the Russian Far East ( Osytshnjuk 1995; Osytshnjuk et al. 2008), specifically Khasan Lake, Golubinyy Utes (42.4099 oN, 130.7536 oE) which is approximately 20 km from the border with China. Xu & Tadauchi then described A. fagopyri from north-eastern China, including from the province of Heilongjiang which borders the Russian Far East. Careful reading of the descriptions as well as inspection of a paratype of A. romankovae from the locus typicus and non-type material from Mongolia shows that these two taxa are conspecific due to their shared characters of weakly shagreened terga, T2–4 with clear complete apical hairbands composed of dense white hairs ( Figure 32F ), A3 exceeding the length of A4+5 (prompting comments by Gusenleitner & Schwarz (2002) who suggested a possible affiliation between A. romankovae and the European species A. nuptialis Pérez, 1902 ), and black facial hair including the facial foveae ( Figure 32B ). The species is likely to be bivoltine (bivoltine behaviour found in many species of Hoplandrena ), with A. romankovae described from the spring generation and A. fagopyri described from the summer generation.

Finally, examination of Radoszkowski material, a specimen under the unpublished name Cilissa seuli was also found ( Figure 33 ). Gusenleitner et al. (2005) commented that the specimen belongs to the subgenus Hoplandrena , and I concur with this assessment; indeed, the specimen is conspecific with A. romankovae . It is labelled as coming from “Koreja” ( Figure 33A ), and had it been published, it would be the senior synonym. As it was not, the seniority of A. romankovae is maintained. The identity of the published species Cilissa thoracica Radoszkowski, 1891 = A. thoracica (Radoszkowski) nec. A. thoracica (Kirby, 1802) = A. pseudothoracica Engel, 2005 must be investigated; it was also described from Vladivostok, and may be a junior synonym of A. romankovae .

Distribution. Russia (Eastern Siberia, Far East), Mongolia *, northern China (Beijing, Hebei, Shanxi, Heilongjiang) and probably North Korea based on Radoszkowski’s specimen ( Xu & Tadauchi 2005; Osytshnjuk et al. 2008; Proshchalykin et al. 2017).
