Description. Female. Body length ca. 2.5 mm, fore wing length ca. 2.6 mm.

Head. Transverse in dorsal view, 2.0× as wide as long (27.0:13.5) and somewhat narrower than mesosoma (23.4:26.0). Temple less constricted ( Fig. 2 g), relatively dull, with shallow punctures, eye 1.5× longer than temple in dorsal view. Face transverse, 0.6× as high as wide, bulging medially, sparsely pubescent ( Fig.2 c), inner margin of eyes parallel. Ocelli relatively small, distance between fore and a hind ocellus not shorter than diameter of hind ocelli, posterior tangent to the anterior ocellus touching the posterior pair, POL:OD:OOL=4.0:2.0:5.0. Antenna slightly shorter than body length, penultimate antennomere 1.3× longer than wide.

Mesosoma. Length to breadth and height 37.0:20.0:29.2. Disc of mesonotum highly shiny, shallowly punctate, interspaces usually equal with diameter of punctures, with much argenteous pubescence. Scutellar sulcus somewhat curved, narrow with dense carinae in between. Scutellum highly shiny, polished with numerous setous punctures. Propodeum highly shiny, only with trace of punctures anteriorly, polished except radiating rugosity around nucha. Mesopleuron highly polished, its anterior half with shallow punctation of even size.

Legs. Spines on outer side of hind tibia sparse. Inner spur of hind tibia longer than the outer one, almost half length of basitarsus, outer spur is 1/3 length of basitarsus. Hind basitarsus as long as tarsal segments 2–4 combined.

Wings. Pterostigma 2.5× as long as its widest part. Vein 1-R1 (metacarp) 0.7× as long as pterostigma, it is 0.7× as long as its distance from the apex of the marginal cell. Vein r nearly half the width of pterostigma, vein r half of vein 2-SR, both veins indistinctly angled at their meeting, vein 2-M 1/3 length of vein 2-SR. 1st discal cell nearly 1/5 wider than high. Vein cu-a more or less straight. Vannal lobe beyond its widest part somewhat convex but without projecting setae.

Metasoma. 1.3× as long as thorax (49.7:37.0). T1 narrowed towards apex, basal width 2× hind width, and very short, only slightly longer than basal width, concave at basal 2/5, highly shiny, polished mostly, except mere trace of punctation before apex. T2 transverse, 3× wider than long in the middle. T3 1.8× as long as T2 (7.0:4.0). Tergites after T1 relatively shiny, smooth. Hypopygium not longer than apex of abdomen. Ovipositor sheath (including stem) as long as hind tibia, relatively thick, subfusiform.

Colour. Body black. Flagellum and ovipositor sheath yellowish brown. Labrum and mandible reddish brown. Palpi, tegulae and spurs of tibiae pale yellow. Scutellum with argenteous setae. Legs reddish yellow, coxae, basal part of mid femur and hind femur reddish brown. Fore wing membrane hyaline, vein 1-R1 and pterostigma brown, vein C+SC+R, r, 2-SR and 2-M light brown, other veins pale.

Variation. Vein r half to slightly shorter than 2-SR. Pterostigma with or without basal spot, yellow to yellowish brown.

Male. Resembles female, except for body not as shiny.

Host. Unknown.

Distribution. China (Provinces: Xinjiang, Liaoning, Jilin, Neimenggu, Shandong).

Etymology. The specific name “ brevivena ” derives from the Latin prefix “brevi-” and the noun “vena”, referring to the distinctly short metacarp.

Remarks. This species is similar to A. nagyi Papp , but can be separated by the following: ovipositor sheath as long as hind tibia (in the latter species 1/4 times shorter than hind tibia); vein r shorter than vein 2-SR (in the latter species equal with vein 2-SR); and T1 constricted gradually towards apex (in the latter species parallel sides on its fore half).
