( Figures 93 View FIGURE 93 , 103 View FIGURE 103. 77–97 )
Description. Holotype. Female. Body length 2.1 mm, fore wing length 3.1 mm.
Head. Transverse in dorsal view, 2.2× as wide as long, 0.9× wider than mesoscutum. Vertex between eye and posterior ocellus shiny and impunctate. Temple weakly dull and rough without punctures, strongly constricted. Face 0.7× as high as wide, slightly shiny and impunctate, inner margin of eyes subparallel-sided. Ocelli small, posterior tangent to anterior ocellus virtually transecting posterior ocelli, distance between fore and hind ocellus not larger than diameter of hind ocellus, POL:OD:OOL=5.0:1.7:5.0. Antenna distinctly shorter than body length (0.8×), penultimate flagellomere cubic to slightly transverse.
Mesosoma. Length:width:height = 45.5:27.5:31.5. Disc of mesonotum slightly shiny, with dense and strong punctures, interspaces shorter than diameter of puncture, striate-punctation at posterior end of notaulic courses. Scutellar sulcus nearly straight, narrow with carinae in between. Scutellum shiny and almost impunctate entirely, narrow posteriorly. Lateral polished field of scutellum reaching up to half length of scutellum, carinae on anterior part of field obsolescent. Propodeum shiny, two short arms reaching out from orifice, spiracle not enclosed with keels, only some short carinae behind spiracle. Mesopleuron highly polished, anterior part with superficial indefinite punctures.
Legs. Hind coxa shiny, with some shallow punctures dorsally. Spines on outer side of hind tibia sparse. Inner spur half length of hind basitarsus, outer spur 1/4. Basitarsus of hind leg 1.1× longer than tarsomeres 2–4 combined, claws of normal size.
Wings. Pterostigma 3.3× as long as its widest part. Vein 1-R1 nearly as long as pterostigma, 3.6× as long as its distance from apex of marginal cell. Vein r arising from middle of pterostigma, almost perpendicular to it, 1.2× longer than width of pterostigma, 1.8× longer than 2-SR, indistinctly angled at junction, 2-M 2/3 length of 2-SR and slightly shorter than 1-SR, 2-SR+M as long as m-cu and 1-SR. First discal cell of fore wing indistinctly wider than high. Second submarginal cell of hind wing nearly as wide as high. Vein cu-a slightly curved. Hind wing broad, length of 1-M distinctly shorter than distance between its distal extremity and apex of vannal lobe, and vannal lobe beyond its widest part strongly concave and hairless.
Metasoma. Nearly 0.8× longer than mesosoma (35.0:45.5). T1 parallel-sided, slightly, short, weakly (1.1×) longer than hind width, concave at basal third, turned-over part slightly shiny, strongly reticulate-punctate, longitudinal channel shallow, broad and smooth, rugose laterally and apical tubercle polished. T2 shiny and polished, 5.0× wider than long in the middle, nearly straight apically. T3 2.0× longer than T2. Tergites posterior to T2 highly polished, shiny, and sparsely pubescent. Hypopygium not longer than apex of metasoma. Ovipositor sheath short, 1.3× longer than hind basitarsus, hairs sparse and long.
Colour. Black. Tegula dark brown. Palpi weakly brownish and spurs pale yellowish. Antenna and ovipositor sheath dark brown. Labrum and mandible dark reddish brown. Legs brown to black, except most parts of fore leg, mid tibia with tarsus, and basal half of hind tibia yellow. Wing membrane hyaline, 1-R1 brown, C+SC+R and border of pterostigma light yellow brown, other alar veins colourless, pterostigma hyaline.
Variation. Body length 2.1–2.8 mm, fore wing length 2.9–3.1 mm. Ovipositor sheath of a specimen (No. 842738) much longer, nearly 2.0× longer than hind basitarsus.
Male. Body length 2.0– 2.2 mm, fore wing length 2.6–2.7 mm. Similar to female, except: antenna distinctly longer than body length, penultimate flagellomere 2.0× longer than wide and T1 distinctly constricted at apical third.
Host. According to the label, Locastra muscosalis Walker.
Material examined. Holotype: 1♀, Songyang, Zhejiang, 1986.IX, Chen Hanlin, No. 870545, ex L. muscosalis Walker . Paratypes: 2♂♂, ditto ; 3♀♀ 3♂♂, ditto , 1986.VIII, ditto , No. 870487, ex ditto ; 1♀, ditto , 1982.VIII, ditto , No. 842738, ex ditto .
Distribution. China (Zhejiang).
Etymology. The specific name “ longiala ” derives from the Latin adjective “longi” and noun “ala”, referring to fore wing distinctly longer than body length.
Remarks. This species is very similar to A. nivellus Nixon , but differs in the following: ovipositor sheath much shorter (as long as hind tibia in latter); T1 without dull satin-like sheen (with in latter); T1 parallel-sided (more narrowed behind in latter).
