Comments. Apenesia modesta was first described as Sclerodermus . Since we were not able to access the type for this study, the diagnosis here provided was obtained from the descriptions by Smith (1864) and Westwood’s (1874). Smith defined A. modesta especially using color details. According to Westwood (1874), the mouthparts of A. modesta are similar to A. amazonica . The type material is supposed to be deposited at OXUM.
Distribution. Oriental ( Indonesia).
