Diagnosis. This is the only species in the genus with bicolored wings, yellow and melanic.
Description. Body length 9.7. Fore wing length 8.9. Body color mostly pale orange to yellow with melanic patches: black as follows: antenna including scape, antennal sockets, margins of ocelli, occiput near foramen; patches of black occur on the following parts: pronotum, propleuron, mesopleuron, hind coxa, femur and tibia, metasomal terga 1 and 3 and 4, and sterna 3 to 5 (one paratype is missing some of the black patches and the other has larger black patches). 54 flagellomeres. Fore wing mostly deeply infuscate, yellow around stigma and anterobasally, parastigma black. Propodeum mostly smooth with pair of diverging longitudinal carinae that define a medial area. Cub of hind wing well pigmented.
Etymology. Named in honor of Mrs. Bonnie Irwin, for her gracious hospitality and support while I (MJS) was on sabbatical at the University of Arizona.
Specimens examined. Holotype ♀. Mexico, Sonora, Hwy 16, km 277, 2 km NW Yecora, Malaise in oak-pine arroyo, 23–26.vii.2008, M. Irwin and R. Wescott, 28°21.40’N, 108°57.20’W, 1560m, H14605. (HIC). Paratypes: USA, Arizona: 2♂, 31°25’N, 110°14’W, 19.vii.1972 and 7.viii.1974 (EMEC, 736791 and 736751).
