Apotomorhamphus sarasini Faust, 1897: 265–266 View in CoL . Type locality: SW Sulawesi, Loka .
Description. Lectotype ( Fig. 4a View FIGURE 4 ). Length. Pronotum plus elytron 4.05 mm. Integument largely covered with appressed, broad scales of green iridescent color, except at black, nude patches; with sparse elongate-clavate subrecumbent scales and small black granules interspersed. Article 2 of antennal funicle 1.4 X longer than article 1. Pronotum coarsely rugose-granulate; midline nude, black. Elytra with two black transverse bands, anterior band interrupted along suture. Genitalia. Penis ( Fig. 4b View FIGURE 4 ). Intraspecific variation. Length. Pronotum plus elytron 3.75–4.60 mm. Pronotum with black median patch short or extending along entire midline. Elytra with black bands rather irregular as in lectotype or forming broad transverse bands.
Material examined. Type specimens. Lectotype, by present designation, male: INDONESIA, S-Sulawesi: Loka; labels ( Fig. 4c View FIGURE 4 ); condition: protarsi broken and missing; right mid-leg partly broken and missing; genitalia in glycerol in microtube; DNA extraction ARC4020 View Materials (GenBank # OR557437) ( SMTD) . Paralectotypes: 4 exx, same data as lectotype [1 ex originally on same pin as lectotype]. Other material examined: 1 ex [paralectotype of A. splendens Faust ], Mt. Bawakaraeng ( SMTD) ; 5 exx, Mt. Bawakaraeng , 5000´, II-1896, H. Fruhstorfer ( SMTD) ; 2 exx, Loka ( SMTD) ; 14 exx, 7 km S Malino, Gn. Lompobattang , 950 m, E 119° 43. 783´S 05° 17.666´, 29-VII-1999 ( SMNS) GoogleMaps .
Notes. Four syntypes were examined; two pairs with a set of labels mounted to a pin each. A lectotype is designated to ensure stability of nomenclature.
