Argentina Hill 1756 View in CoL
John Hill (1756) in describing Argentina included only “ Argentina vulgaris ”, a name not validly published as Hill’ s publication is in the list of suppressed works, for species and infraspecific taxa ( Wiersema & al., 2018 –). A type for Argentina was later designated by Rydberg (1908b), namely Argentina anserina (L) Rydb. (basionym Potentilla anserina L.), which belongs to the Anserina clade.
