Description. Adult ( Fig. 46 View FIGURES 44 – 51 ) wingspan 16. 0 mm.
Male genitalia ( Figs. 115 View FIGURES 114 – 119 , 171 View FIGURES 170 – 173 , 227 View FIGURES 221 – 232 ): Tuba analis shorter than width of valva. Socius covered with 26̄30 scale-like setae, bearing two long setae posteriorly ( Fig. 227 View FIGURES 221 – 232 ). Gnathos not inflated distally, without long thick setae apically. Valva widest in basal 2/5, dorsal margin nearly straight, slightly arched at middle, ventral margin distinctly rounded before middle; a clump of thick setae at center, some brush-like distally. Saccus shorter than width of valva, with distal half narrowed, nearly uniform in width, rounded apically. Phallus straight, 4.0 times as long as width of valva ( Fig. 171 View FIGURES 170 – 173 ). Second sternite with about 20 micro-setae in each row; eighth sternite V-shaped. Coremata present.

Distribution. China (Xizang).
Diagnosis. The diagnosis is given under A. (A.) chlorella , sp. nov.
Remarks. The male genitalia of this species are described here for the first time. Although no female specimens are available, the superficial characters of this species match the original description in Meyrick (1938) and the figure in Clarke (1965). Moreover, the longitudinal central streak in the mesothorax is unique so far in the genus Argyresthia .
