TYPE LOCALITY: Jamaica .
DISTRIBUTION: Sinaloa and Tamaulipas ( Mexico) to Guianas, Trinidad; Tobago; Greater Antilles; Lesser Antilles. Amazonian Brazil (JRT; KFK disagrees).
COMMENT: Includes trinitatis and preceps (KFK). Bats often treated as jatnaicensis most probably belong to several additional species; they are fraterculus and planirostris (Koopman, 1978:14- 16) and fuliginosus ( Handley, 1976, Brigham Young Univ. Sci. Bull., 20(5):31) and are so treated here.
