Atherimorpha scutellaris Malloch View in CoL
( Figures 2A–F View Figure 2 )
Atherimorpha scutellaris Malloch, 1932, p. 214 View in CoL ; James, 1975, p. 2.
Female
Wing length 7.0– 8.7 mm. General colouration brown-grayish. Eyes violaceous iridescent (relaxed). Frons, occiput, clypeus, face, pleurae and coxae light brown with grey pollinosity; antennae and hairs at back of head black, palpi dark grayish brown pollinose. Scutum light brown with 1+1 submedian and 1+1 sublateral longitudinal dark grayish vittae. Legs and halteres light brown with lighter femora, wings subhyaline, with R1 yellowish brown. Abdomen light brown grayish, tergites with s darker median subtriangle spots not arriving to posterior border. Antennae and frons bristles, occiput, scutum, scutellum and tibiae black; hairs of head, pleurae, legs and abdomen whitish. Frons convergent below, with angulate transversal sulcus subbassally ( Figure 2A View Figure 2 ). Ocellar triangle prominent with big ocelli. Scape twice length of pedicel with hairs meeting the distal border of pedicel; basal article of flagellum subrhomboidal shape, palpi subcylinder, slowly curved and accuminated apically, about as long as the proboscis, with long hairs nearly as long as the palpi length. Scutum and tibiae bristles isolated, and abundant hairs on pleurae and coxae. Apical tibiae spurr 0:2:1. Sc, R 2+3, R 3+4 and wing membrane bare.
Genitalia. Tergite and sternite X, and cerci as Figure 2B View Figure 2 ; distal article of cercus about twice as long as wide, with tricuspid sensillae in a cavity on flat apical area ( Figure 2C View Figure 2 ). Genital fork subtriangle shape, rounded apically ( Figure 2D View Figure 2 ). Hypoginium with eighth sternite subrhomboidal shape; gonapophysis short with long setae ( Figure 2E View Figure 2 ).
Male
Wing length 6.6–7.3 mm. General colouration blackish, darker than female; thorax and coxae grayish pollinose. Scutum with one median and 1+1 brown longitudinal stripe, abdomen grayish pollinose with median longitudinal blackish triangle on tergites ( Figure 2F View Figure 2 ). Antennae and palpi thinner than female. Genitalia unknown.
Material examined

Stange: one female ( IML); Llanquihue, El Frutillar, 5-II-1966, coll. F. Silva: two females ( UC); Chiloe´, Dalcahue, 17/ 31-I-1962, coll. L. Peña: two males ( EAUCH); El Quillar, 14-XII-1964, coll. Hickins: one male ( UC).
Distribution
Chile: Arauco, Cautin, Concepción, Llanquihue, Chiloe´.
Discusion
In general, material revised is in accordance with the original female description. The holotype deposited in the British Museum shows some light colouration on abdomen, more grayish brown at tergite sides.
Atherimorpha triangularis Malloch
( Figure 3A–E View Figure 3 )
Atherimorpha triangularis Malloch, 1932, p. 234 View in CoL ; James, 1975, p. 2.
Female
Wing length 6.0– 7.5mm. Colour general brown-grayish. Eyes brown violaceous. Frons, ocellar tubercle, occiput, face and cheeks light brown-grayish pollinose; antennae, palpi and proboscis blackish, scape, pedicel and palpi dusted gray, thorax and coxae brown dusted light grayish. Scutum with three gray darkened stripes with no well-evident limits; legs and wing veins light brown, with femora blackish. Wings light grayish-brown hyaline; pterostigma scarcely darkened. Abdomen dark gray fuscous, in some specimens with latero-distal border of tergites I–IV testaceous yellowish, as are VI–VII ( Figure 3A View Figure 3 ); sternites I–IV yellowish brown and V–VIII grayish brown. Frons, occiput, scutum, scutellum and leg bristles, and palpi hairs black; beard whitish, abdomen hairs white-yellowish to brown in accordance with the light incidence. Frons convergent below. Ocellar triangle slowly elevated. Scape subcylindrical, with diameter and the pedicel diameter about the same width as the first flagellomere ( Figure 3B View Figure 3 ); arista with four to five segments, palpi subcylindric and shorter than the proboscis length. Leg bristles about as long as the leg diameter, tibial spur 0:2:2; third coxae with antero-apical spine tubercle like. Sc with or without scarce chaetae; R1 upperside, R 2+3 ventrally with chaetae; R 3+4 and membrane bare. Scutum long bristles arranged in 1+1 submedian and 1+1 sublateral rows; scutellum bristles arranged on posterior border and on the disc: pleura with a tuft of hair arranged in a row on katatergite. Genitalia unknown.
Male
Wing length 6.6–7.5 mm. Colouration very close to female but darker than it, as are legs and abdomen, the last fuscous without yellowish spots on tergites and with median tergal triangle more evident. Ocellar triangle about as long as wide, prominent over eye surface, and with three ocelli. Basal article of flagellum longer
than wide at base, subtriangle shape with short hairs very difficult to see; arista multisegmented not differentiate the segments.
Genitalia. Hypoginium as Figure 3C View Figure 3 , very close to A. nemoralis , but dististyli are longer and more curved and with longer processes on apex. A specimen from El Canelillo shows basistyli more flattened ( Figure 3D View Figure 3 ). Cerci subtrapezoidal ( Figure 3E View Figure 3 ).

Discussion
Our material is in accordance with the holotype male deposited in the USNM, but a little larger and legs lighter. Closest species is A. flavolateralis but male abdomen II– IV tergites are orange yellow, V–VIII slightly shiny, and R 2+3 has chaetae on both sides.
