Based on:— Austrolejeunea hispida R.M.Schust., Phytologia 47: 305, 1981 ( Schuster 1981), nom. inval. (ICN Art. 35.1; genus not valid). Type:— NEW ZEALAND. South Island: Falls Creek, Upper Hollyford R. valley, 3 November 1961, R.M. Schuster 48809 (F, holotype). Note:—The reference to the description in Schuster (1981: 305) validates the taxon.
