( Figures 1 View Figure 1 (f), 2(i), 4(f), 5(f), 6(f), 7(f))
Dianthidium zebratum Schrottky, 1905: 7 View in CoL . Lectotype male, designated by Urban (1999), Paraguay: Itapua (MZUSP, examined).

Comments and diagnosis
This species shares with A. amapaensis and A. catamarcensis the presence of ferruginous maculae on the head and mesosoma. It is characterized by having the head and mesosoma with yellow maculae merged with ferruginous maculae; scutellum yellowish or with yellowish band; terga with narrow yellow band, which can be complete or interrupted medially, and T2 with deep and sparse punctures on disc.
Variation. Females: The yellow maculae of the terga can vary from complete to incomplete.
Males: The integument of head can be black or ferruginous with yellow and ferruginous maculae. The scutum can be ferruginous merged with yellow reverse U-shaped maculae or almost entire scutum ferruginous merged with yellow. The mesepisternum has a spot or a large ferruginous maculae and the metepisternum can be black or with ferruginous spot. The yellow maculae on T1–T4 can be interrupted medially; T7 black or ferruginous with or without yellow band.
Distribution. Argentina: Misiones; Brazil: Paraná, São Paulo; Paraguay: Cordillera, Itapúa. A record for Cáceres, in Mato Grosso, Brazil, provided by Urban (1999) could not be confirmed, since the specimen has not been located.
