24. Azorella trilobata Dusén (1907 View in CoL [1908]: 31) ≡ Schizeilema trilobatum (Dusén) Domin (1908: 577) ≡ Azorella ranunculus d´Urville var. trilobata (Dusén) Macloskie (1914: 189) , as “ trifoliolata ”.
Lectotype (designated here):— ARGENTINA. Santa Cruz : Dpto. Lago Argentino, 21 March 1905, P. K. H. Dusén 5920 (UPS-V-772836!; isolectotypes K000529686!, SI045720 !).
Protologue:—“Rio Fosiles in montanis in terra subuliginosa, graminosa, muscosa nec non in consortio Bolacis glebariae COMM.”.
= Azorella andina (Philippi) Drude (1897: 132) View in CoL ≡ Huanaca andina Philippi (1864: 93) View in CoL .
Notes:— The treatment where Azorella trilobata View in CoL was first described ( Dusén, 1907 [1908]) corresponds to the novelties collected by Dusén in western and southern Patagonia. The protologue indicates that the new species was collected in Río Fósiles, a river in Santa Cruz, Argentina. We found three specimens that correspond to original material that are duplicates and match the protologue in locality and morphology (K000529686, SI045720 , UPS-V-772836). From these, the one at SI was probably deposited at the herbarium before the preparation of the publication of the new species (the specimen has an original collection label without any species name assigned). From the other two specimens, both could have been used by the author for the description of the new species, and therefore we select the one at UPS as the lectotype because Dusén worked in Sweden ; the specimen has abundant plant material with fruiting umbels.
25. Azorella vaginata Philippi (1894: 704) ≡ Azorella lycopodioides var. vaginata (Philippi) Reiche (1899: 792) . Lectotype (designated here):— CHILE. Volcán Osorno, Juliet s.n. (SGO000003670!; isolectotype SGO000003671!).
Protologue:—“In monte ignivomo de Osorno dicto invenit orn. Dr. Carlos Juliet”.
= Azorella lycopodioides Gaudichaud (1825: 105) View in CoL .
Notes:—Philippi described the new species based on a gathering by Juliet in “Volcán de Osorno” ( Muñoz-Pizarro, 1960). We found two specimens that completely agree with the protologue and constitute original material. We designate SGO000003670 as the lectotype of Azorella vaginata View in CoL because it has more material.
