Material examined. Holotype ♂, BOLIVIA, Cochabamba, Villa Tunari , trop. for., 16º54'55''S 65º22'06''W, 6.X.2001, M[alaise] T[rap], H. Heider col. ( CNCI). GoogleMaps

Diagnosis. MALE ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 13. 1 – 5 ). Black. Mandible with five apical teeth ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 13. 1 – 5 ). Clypeus with subangulate median lobe. Antennal scrobe not carinate. Frons coriaceous. Vertex broadly slightly convex. Pronotal disc with anterior corner acute; anterior carina arched inward medially; median carina absent; lateral margin not carinate; posterior margin not followed by series of foveae. Scutellar pit subrounded. Mesopleuron with subtegular groove subtriangular; anterior fovea drop-shaped; upper fovea rounded; lower fovea with upper margin absent ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 13. 1 – 5 ). Genitalia ( Figs 4, 5 View FIGURES 1 – 13. 1 – 5 ): paramere absent; cuspis divided into two arms, ventral arm cylindrical, as long as basiparamere in lateral view, dorsal arm 0.5 × as long as ventral arm; aedeagus wide and stout, short, only 0.64 × as long as genitalia length, without constricted between apical and basal halves; ventral margin projected downward as lamina; apodeme short. FEMALE unknown.

Distribution. Bolivia.

Remarks. The absence of paramere is a very unusual character of this species. The aedeagus is wide and short as most of species of Epyris Westwood.
