Belisana gyirong Zhang, Zhu & Song 2006: 200 View in CoL , figs 25–31.
Material examined. 2 males ( IZCAS Ar39796–39797) and 2 females ( IZCAS Ar39798–39799), Chongse Village (28°23'42.02"N, 85°21'28.67"E, elevation 2801 m), Gyirong Town , Gyirong County, Xigaze, Tibet, China, 25 July 2017, X. Zhang and Z. Bai leg. GoogleMaps
Diagnosis. This species resembles B. zham sp. nov. ( Figs 9–10 View FIGURE 9 View FIGURE 10 , 11 View FIGURE 11 G–H) with similar bulbal apophyses ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 ) and vulval pore plates ( Figs 2B View FIGURE 2 , 11B View FIGURE 11 ), but can be distinguished by presence of large retrolateral membranous flap (arrow f in Fig. 1D View FIGURE 1 ), small, disto-dorsal membranous lamella (arrow 1 in Fig. 1C View FIGURE 1 ) and small, disto-ventral membranous process (arrow 2 in Fig. 1C View FIGURE 1 ) on procursus. Compared with B. zham sp. nov., distal apophyses of male chelicerae (arrow da in Fig. 2D View FIGURE 2 ) are closer, and epigynal pockets (arrow ep in Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 A–B, 11A–B) are more separated.
Redescription. Male (IZCAS Ar39796). Total length 2.35 (2.41 with clypeus), carapace 1.10 long, 0.83 wide, opisthosoma 1.25 long, 1.12 wide. Leg I: 21.73 (5.19 + 0.38 + 5.58 + 8.72 + 1.86), leg II: 14.40 (3.97 + 0.37 + 3.78 + 5.45 + 0.83), leg III: 9.87 (2.87 + 0.22 + 2.25 + 3.72 + 0.81), leg IV: 11.67 (3.59 + 0.26 + 2.82 + 4.04 + 0.96); tibia I L/d: 70. Habitus as in Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 E–F. Carapace pale, with pair of large brown marks; ocular area and clypeus brown; sternum pale, without marks. Legs pale, without darker rings. Opisthosoma pale, with black spots dorsally and laterally. Distance PME-PME 0.10, diameter PME 0.07, distance PME-ALE 0.04, AME absent. Ocular area not elevated. Thoracic furrow absent. Clypeus unmodified. Sternum slightly wider than long (0.68/0.63). Chelicerae ( Fig. 2D View FIGURE 2 ) with pair of small proximo-lateral apophyses and pair of short, curved distal apophyses each with hardened and pointed tip (distance between tips: 0.16). Pedipalps as in Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 A–B; coxa unmodified; trochanter with short retrolatero-ventral apophysis; femur with small proximo-dorsal apophysis (arrow in Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ); procursus ( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 A–D) curved (arrow in Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ), complex distally, with membranous elements, long distal spine and large, retrolateral membranous flap (arrow f in Fig. 1D View FIGURE 1 ); bulb ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 ) with long hooked apophysis and long embolus. Retrolateral trichobothria of tibia I at 5% proximally; legs with short vertical setae on metatarsi, without spines or curved setae; tarsus I with 24 distinct pseudosegments.
Female (IZCAS Ar39798): Similar to male, habitus as in Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 G–H. Total length 2.30 (2.44 with clypeus), carapace 0.89 long, 0.81 wide, opisthosoma 1.41 long, 0.97 wide. Tibia I: 3.78; tibia I L/d: 47. Distance PME-PME 0.11, diameter PME 0.06, distance PME-ALE 0.04, AME absent. Sternum slightly longer than wide (0.63/0.58). External female genitalia ( Figs 2A View FIGURE 2 , 11A View FIGURE 11 ) simple and flat, with pair of pockets 0.10 apart (ep in Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 A–B, 11A–B). Vulva ( Figs 2B View FIGURE 2 , 11B View FIGURE 11 ) with slightly curved anterior arch and pair of elliptic pore plates.
Variation: Tibia I in another male (IZCAS Ar39797): 4.49. Tibia I in another female (IZCAS Ar39799): 2.56.
Natural history. The species was found on the underside of rocks.
Distribution. China (Tibet, Gyirong County, Gyirong Town. Fig. 12 View FIGURE 12 ; the same as type locality see Zhang et al. 2006).
