Remarks. Bohemannia quadrimaculella is usually recorded only by collecting adults, since its life history is incompletely known and larvae do not make mines, but probably feed inside Alnus shoots. Only the French record from 14Calvados is reliable. The specimen(s) cited by Millière from the Alpes Maritimes has not been found in the collections, and the month of collecting (May) makes it very unlikely to be correct; B. quadrimaculella is always found in summer (JulyAugust), even in Mediterranean habitats.
