Types. Holotype ♀, CHINA, Yunnan, Nujiang Prefecture, Sanjiang Township , Lushui County, Nu Jiang , 25.72964°N, 98.87180°E, alt. 790m, 26 June 2000, D. H. Kavanaugh, Charles Griswold and Heng-mei Yan leg. (00–Lan) GoogleMaps . Paratypes: 3♀, same data as holotype (00– Lan) GoogleMaps .
Etymology. This epithet derives from the type locality.
Diagnosis. The new species can be distinguished from any other Bolyphantes species by having the pseudoscape outline rectangular with narrower posterior end in epigyne ( Fig. 44A–C View FIGURE 44 ).
Description. Female (holotype, Fig. 45A, B View FIGURE 45 ): Total length: 2.34. Carapace 0.98 long, 0.75 wide; cephalic region slightly elevated, brown; fovea, cervical and radial grooves distinct. Clypeus 0.23 high. Sternum longer than wide, brown, sparsely covered with microsetae. Labium wider than long. Maxillae long, distal end broad with scopulae. Chelicerae with five promarginal and three retromarginal teeth. Eye region narrow, AER recurved, PER straight and slightly wider than AER. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.05, ALE 0.08, PME 0.08, PLE 0.07, AME–AME 0.02, PME–PME 0.04, AME–ALE, 0.05, PME–PLE 0.04, AME–PME 0.06, ALE–ALE 0.32, PLE–PLE 0.35 ALE–PLE contiguous. Length of legs: I 4.68 (1.26, 1.45, 1.17, 0.80), II 3.75 (1.07, 1.12, 0.93, 0.63), III 3.5 (0.93, 1.01, 0.81, 0.53), IV 4.35 (1.24, 1.35, 1.07, 0.69). Leg formula I-IV-II-III. Tm I 0.59 and Tm IV 0.48. Tibial spine formula: 2-2-2-2. Abdomen 1.36 long, 0.91 wide, oval, dorsally with distinct brown patterns from the anterior margin to the base of spinnerets; ventral side brown.
Epigyne ( Fig. 44A–D View FIGURE 44 ): Protruding, pseudoscape outline rectangular with well developed stretcher; stretcher tongue-shaped; entrance groove inside lateral pockets; posterior median plate broad, rectangular in outline, slightly covering the stretcher; spermathecae small and curved.
Male. Unknown.
Distribution. Known only from the type locality ( Fig. 46 View FIGURE 46 ).
