(55) Bosmina (Bosmina) tripurae Ko View in CoL ř ínek, Saha & Bhattacharya, 1999
Type locality. " Kundha Dam in Nilgiri Hills , near town Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu ", India ( Kořínek et al. 1999) .
Indian records. Assam — Sinha (2002); Tripura — Saha et al. (2011); Tripura, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh — Kořínek et al. (1999); General record— Raghunathan & Suresh Kumar (2003);
Remarks. Future B. tripurae was recorded as B. cf. japonica Poppe & Richard, 1890 from India ( Kořínek 1971), and the author already stated that the male of this animal is markedly different from males of B. (Bosmina) longirostris and of B. (Sinobosmina) fatalis . Kořínek et al. (1999) described the adult male of this species and placed it in the subgenus Sinobosmina , based on the position of the lateral head pore, the structure of the male postabdomen, and the copulatory hook. But, according to our re-evaluation of the genus system, this species is a primitive member of the subgenus Bosmina s. str., instead of B. ( Sinobosmina ) (Kotov et al. 2009).
