Genus Coboydaia Fain, 1985
Coboydaya Fain, 1971: 98 (as subgenus of Boydaia ), 1985a: 146 (genus rank). Type species: Boydaia trochila Fain, 1958 by original designation.
Diagnosis. Hypostome with 2 pairs of setae. Propodonotal region with 5–6 pairs of setae (ve present or absent). Each agenital and pseudanal setal series with 1–2 pairs. Trochanter I and II without setae.
Remarks. The members of this genus are associated mainly with passerines, however two species have been recorded from non-passeriform host orders: Apodiformes and Columbiformes (Fain et al. 1985; Skoracki et al. 2012). The Afrotropical fauna comprises three of the five described species in this genus: CObOydaia amandavae Fain 1962 , C. clavata Fain, 1956 , and C. nigra Fain, 1955 .
