Diagnosis. The socius is indistinct in B. notella , the valva is sharply curved on dorsal margin and narrowed distally, which can separate it from B. duanwuia and other congeners.

Host plant and Biology. Artemisia princeps Pamp. (Asteraceae) . The host plant of B. notella is unknown in China. Murase (2003) recorded the host and biology of this species in Japan, and Kobayashi et al. (2010) reviewed the biology based on new materials and observations.
Distribution. China (Shaanxi), Russian Far East ( Seksjaeva 1996), Japan ( Kobayashi et al. 2010).
