Type (neotype, designated here):— ARGENTINA. Chaco: Depto. Gral. Güemes, Pozo del Horcon. El impenetrable, 177 m. a.s.l., 21 August 2015, A.A. Cocucci 5719 ( CORD barcode CORD 00056302!, Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ).
Notes: — The species B. gancedoi was described by Nicolas Rojas Acosta in 1918. In the protologue the author cited that the specimen was collected in” Zygophyllacée répandue près du Rio Teuco, district de Caaguazu, des frontières du Chaco à la provincie de Salta ” by A. Gancedo on June 20, 1915. However, he did not specify where the type specimen was deposited. It is known that most of the species described by Rojas Acosta do not have a herbarium specimen of reference ( Krapovichas 1970). However, some of his collections can be found in BAF or BAB ( Krapovichas 1970). Both herbaria were contacted but no type specimens were found. Therefore the specimen of Cocucci 5719 found in CORD ( CORD 00056302) is designated here as a neotype (Art 9.7, McNeil et al. 2012). This is a specimen of B. sarmientoi collected at a locality more or less comparable to that described in the protologue of B. gancedoi , and also because the latter was sunk into the synonymy of B. sarmientoi ( Palacios & Hunziker 1984) . This specimen is a well conserved collection, with enough leaves and fruits matching the diagnosis of the taxon ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ).
