Diagnosis. Similar to Callaspidia defonscolombei , since both have transverse carinae on the lateral surface of pronotum, and frons very rugose. But in C. dahlbomi , there are very prominent and long transverse carinae on ventral half of central area of the propodeum; these carinae are unique in the genus.

Description. Length. Female 4.7– 5.1mm.; male unknown.

Coloration. Head black. Antenna orange. Mesonotum mostly black except for mesopleura, scutellum, propodeal carinae and metanotum, which are orange. Metasoma dark but petiole and ventral spine orange. Leg orange.

Head. Frons strongly rugose and coriaceous, frontal carina absent, but central area prominent. Lateral frontal carina coriaceous, wide and sinuous, space between it and compound eye strongly coriaceous and transversely carinated. Vertex in dorsal view coriaceous, with two cells. Gena in lateral view angled behind eye, alutaceous, with abundant transverse carinae. Occiput shining and with transverse carinae.

Mesosoma. Lateral surface of pronotum coriaceous with abundant irradiating carinae, which are fairly narrow, straight basally and sinuous dorsally. Scutum strongly coriaceous, very weakly carinated transversely between notauli. Parascutal sulcus shining, conspicuously carinated transversely. Median ridge and anteroadmedial lines prominent, slightly convergent. Notauli very wide posteriorly, alutaceous, with strong transverse carinae inside. Median mesoscutal furrow wide, alutaceous and carinated. Scutum in lateral view prominent medially. Interfoveal line not more prominent than lateral margins of scutellum. Propodeal carinae narrow and very divergent basally, getting wider dorsally. Area between them with strong transverse carinae ventrally, pubescent dorsally.

Wings. R2 weakly bended basally. R1 present but very short.

Biology. Unknown.

Distribution. Holarctic. Known from Sweden (Furillen) and USA (Utah).

Comments. The type material to describe this species belongs to Dalhbom's collection, and was part of the type series of C defonscolombei .
