Type Locality: Brazil, Mato Grosso, Cuiaba.
Vernacular Names: Black-tailed Marmoset.
Synonyms: Callithrix (Mico) leucomerus ( Gray 1846) ; Callithrix (Mico) leukeurin (Natterer in Pelzeln 1883) .
Distribution: S Brazil, between the Rios Aripuanã and Juruena, southwest to the Rio Beni in Bolivia.
Conservation: CITES – Appendix II.
Discussion: Subgenus Mico . Separated from C. argentata by de Vivo (1991).
