Type material. Holotype ɞ, labelled “N[orth] Hindo[stan], Larentia conturbata ” [ BMNH, examined]
Diagnosis. Externally, P. conturbata (wingspan 34–38mm) is similar to other species of Paraplaneta . It has bipectinate antennae with moderately long rami in male and darker or lighter greyish forewings with outwardly projected postmedial fascia and a white, dentate to wavy (near tornus) subterminal line. Discal dots are rather weak. Underside of wings is distinct with broad, white, postmedial lines, whitish basal half of wings and almost black marginal band. Discal dots are prominent. In the male genitalia P. conturbata can be distinguished from its congeners by the shape of the uncus which is broad at base, medially roundly incurved, apically dilated and broadly rounded, with a short medial incision; the narrowly elongated distal part of the valve costa and a broad, cap-shaped tip of the short and stout saccular arm. The female genitalia are characterized by rather elliptical, lateral plates of the sterigma and a large, ovate corpus bursae with a rather small signum and a comparatively small appendix bursae.
