Zoogeographic element. Central and Northern European (arcto-alpine).
Distribution. Discontinously distributed in Europe, in the north from Scandinavian Peninsula to northen Russia, westward to Ireland and England. In Central Europe in the Alps and the Carpathians.
Distribution in Romania. Epigeal records. Predeal (LL83) (Jeannel 1936; Petri 1926). Hypogeal records. P. Ungurului (3726/30) (FS19) (Elmer 1921); Valea Cernei (MSS) (FQ28/29) (Decu et al. 2006); MSS and Caves No. 1200/45 and 1200/ 110 in Vârghişului gorges (LM82) (Nitzu et al. 2007); P. Lupului (LL53) (27.VI.2009, AN leg., ISER) ( Fig. 13 View FIGURE 13 ).
Ecological status. Troglophile.
