Type data: Friese (1899a) mentioned that the type specimen was housed at NMW but it is actually in HNHM. The holotype male has the following data label: Mexico [printed]\ [light greenish square] 36. [handwritten]\ [black- rimmed] 658 47. [handwritten]\ C. flavifrons F. v. flavofasciata Friese ³ [handwritten] det. Friese 1898 [printed]. There is no precise locality information from the original description or specimen labels, but according to the ac- cession book at HNHM the type specimen was collected in “Praesidio” (= Presidio) in Sinaloa state, Mexico and purchased from the British naturalist Alphonse Forrer in 1883. The species was correctly interpreted by Snelling (1966, 1984) and Moure et al. (2007).
