Type data: A single female specimen with original Lepeletier’s label was found in OUMNH. This specimen is here designated the lectotype and it has the following data label: 495 [handwritten]\ Centris denudans Lep. ♀ Cayen- nae [handwritten] ( OUMNH). The lectotype is much damaged with eyes and metasoma missing. According to the original description, this specimen belonged to Dejean collection.

Type locality: French Guiana: Cayenne .

Comment: This species was correctly interpreted by Silveira et al. (2002) and according to these authors and to Moure et al. (2007) in Brazil C. denudans can be found in Amazonas, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Pará, Rondônia and São Paulo states.
