Type data: Friese (1899) described the species based on a single female collected in an undetermined locality in Ecuador. Type locality: Ecuador .

Comments: The type locality cannot be further narrowed down than to Ecuador. This species was correctly interpreted by Michener (1954) and Snelling (1984).
