Diagnosis. Frontoclypeal region and vertex slightly convex with very fine and sparse puncturation; pronotum subrectangular; in males metaventrite in middle with shallow oval impression and metaventral process slightly broader than 1/4 of maximum metaventral width, posteromesal margin slightly concave; lateral projections 1.2 times as long as broad; aedeagus in ventral view with elongate subtriangular and pointed apical part and two shallow subapical constrictions.
Description. Male. Body length 1.36–1.41 mm, moderately convex, pronotum and head brown, elytra chestnut brown, antennae and legs light brown, tarsi and mouth parts yellowish, setation yellowish.
Head broadest across moderately large eyes; length 0.16–0.18 mm, width 0.28–0.29 mm; frontoclypeal region subtrapezoidal, slightly convex; vertex slightly convex; supraantennal tubercles weakly raised. Puncturation on frontoclypeal region and vertex fine, very sparse, well-marked; setation moderately long, very sparse, suberect. Length of antennae 0.62–0.65 mm; antennomere I subcylindrical, 1.5 times as long as broad, II subcylindrical, 1.3 times as long as broad, antennomeres III slightly longer than broad, IV–V elongate, 1.2 times as long as broad, antennomere VI nearly as long as broad, VII spherical, VIII subtrapezoidal, IX transverse, 1.1 times as broad as long, X transverse, 1.3 times as broad as long, XI subconical, 1.5 times as long as broad.
Pronotum subrectangular, slightly convex, widest at anterior third, length 0.40–0.42 mm, width 0.48–0.49 mm, with broadly rounded anterior margin, posterior margin biemarginate. Lateral carina well-marked, microserrate, sides strongly rounded in anterior third and weakly convergent in posterior third, posterior corners right. Puncturation very fine, moderately dense, composed of small and shallow punctures; setation moderately long, suberect to erect.
Elytra oval, elongate, moderately convex, length 0.79–0.82 mm, width 0.59–0.60 mm, EI 1.34–1.39; widest slightly anterior to middle; apices of elytra weakly separately rounded. Each elytron with single basal fovea located closer to scutellum than to humerus; humeral carina as long as 1/6 of elytral length. Puncturation fine, dense, punctures shallow, distance between punctures 0.3–1.3 times of their diameter. Setation moderately long, suberect to erect.
Metaventrite with shallow oval impression, densely punctured, distance between punctures 0.7–1.0 times of their diameter with moderately short and erect setation; metaventral process slightly broader than 1/4 of maximum metaventral width, posteromesal margin slightly concave; lateral projections 1.2 times as long as broad, apex of each forming right angle with blunt tip.
Aedeagus ( Figs. 41–42 View FIGURES 41 – 45 ) length 0.36–0.38 mm, in ventral view with elongate subtriangular and pointed apical part and two shallow subapical constrictions, each paramere slender with long apical seta; endophallus as in Fig. 43 View FIGURES 41 – 45 .
Legs moderately long and slender; protibiae as in Fig. 45 View FIGURES 41 – 45 .
Female. Unknown.
Distribution. Greece.
Etymology. Species dedicated to Volker Assing, the collector of the type material.
