Distribution. (Map 2) China (Guangxi, Hunan, Zhejiang).
Remarks. The new species is very similar to Cestrotus acuticurvus in the general facial pattern, the palpal and antennal coloration, the general pattern on the mesoscutum and scutellum, and in the wing pattern, but can be differentiated by the confluence of the median facial stripe with the subantennal markings, the isolated scutellar markings (confluent with mesoscutal mark in C. acuticurvus ), the lack of a rhombic hyaline spot in the brown area of cell r2+3, the strong setae at the base of the outer surstylar process (thin hair-like setulae in C. acuticurvus ), the outer surstylar lobe being blunt in posterior view (sharpened and curved in C. acuticurvus ), the inner surstylar lobe being longer than the outer lobe, and the blunt aedeagus acutely curved distally (evenly curving to sharpened tip in C. acuticurvus ).
Etymology. Latin, obtusus , meaning blunt, dull; referring to the aedeagus being blunt apically in lateral view; a masculine adjective.
