Type material. Syntype male, labeled “Ouarsanguelis” and “Mus. Paris/ Somali /Révoil.-1881” ( DEIC, examined).
Diagnosis. Length 12.0-14.0 mm. Dorsal coloration as shown in Figure 10 View Figures 1-15 . This species is easily distinguished from all other species of Chaetodera by its unique elytral color pattern and the presence of large, black punctures on the elytral disc ( Figure 10 View Figures 1-15 ).
Material examined. SOMALIA: (1 male, 1 female, CMNH) ; 4 km SW of Garoowe , 23.V.1979 (1 male, 1 female, NMNH) .
