Description of the hitherto unknown female of Chalybion mochii HENSEN :

Body length 19 mm, length of forewing 12.5 mm. Body blue, legs slightly violaceous. Wings light brownish hyaline, apical margins infuscated. Head, Thorax and propodeum with conspicuous white tomentum like in male. Clypeus with five distinct teeth. Anterior slope of pronotal collar nearly straight, with distinct median impression. Metapleuron not sunk below level of mesopleuron and propodeum, but forming a continuous smooth surface with these parts; propodeum in dorsal view longer than thorax. Punctation of pronotum and scutum obsolete, meso- and metapleuron sparsely finely punctate; propodeum finely sparsely punctate, transverse striae on dorsum weak. Claws on hindtarsi without inner tooth. Petiolus as long as hind basitarsus.

The female of Chalybion mochii shares with Chalybion laevigatum the weak or obsolet punctation on pronotal collar and scutum and the claws of hind tarsi without basal tooth, but differs in having wings light brownish hyaline and head, thorax and propodeum with conspicuous white tomentum ( Chalybion laevigatum has dark-brown wings with violaceous reflections and no conspicuous white tomentum on head, thorax and propodeum).
