Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a video of a specimen taken at Kavieng, Kavieng District , 0–11 m depth, St. KR 22, 5 June 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Christmas Island and Indonesia east to Palau and Solomon Islands, south to northern Great Barrier Reef ( Australia) and Vanuatu. Found on upper edge of seaward reef slopes, 2–10 m depth. Marine.
