Diagnosis. This species is characterized by the presence of the reddish stripes present on the outer side of antennae and behind of compound eyes, the mesoprescutum with reddish quadrate spots, the pronotum and metanotum without markings, the short forewing with ovoid cell im, the 1st rs-psm crossvein located at 2/3 of im, the male sterna VIII + IV about 3.0 times of tergum VIII, the small ovoid entoprocessus, and the short arcessus.
Description. Male. Body length 8.4–9.5 mm, forewing length 11.5–11.9 mm, hindwing length 9.5–10.7 mm.
Head yellow, vertex raised. Compound eyes blackish brown. Antennae with reddish stripe on outer side. Frons, clypeus and gena without spots. Maxillary palpi black on outer side, labial palpi brownish yellow.
Pronotum anterior margin shorter than posterior margin.Mesoprescutum with reddish quadrate spots.Metanotum without markings.
Legs with dense setae, without spots. Pretarsal claws brown, with basal dilation.
Forewing short and narrow. Pterostigma indistinct. Costal area with 20–23 crossveins; 10–11 radial crossveins present. 1st rs-psm crossvein located at 2/3 of im; im ovoid; m1 smaller than m2; 9 crossveins present between Psm and Psc. c1 smaller than c2, dcc opened. A1 forked, A2 and A3 simple. Inner gradate series with 5–6 brown crossveins, outer gradate series with 6–7 brown crossveins.
Hindwing narrow, with black suffusion on apical posterior margin. Pterostigma indistinct. Costal area with 15–16 crossveins, 10–12 radial crossveins and 8 psm-psc crossveins present. Inner gradate series with 5–6 brown crossveins, outer gradate series with 5–6 crossveins.
Abdomen with dense setae. Tergum VII and sternum VII subquadrate in lateral view; tergum VIII obviously shorter than tergum VII; sternum VIII fused with sternum IX, about 3.0 times as long as tergum VIII; tergum IX fused with ectoproct. Callus cerci ovoid. Gonarcus arcuate, lateral arms narrow at base and wide at tip; entoprocessus small and ovoid; arcessus short and curved.
Female. Body length 8.3–9.5 mm, forewing length 11.9–12.8 mm, hindwing length 10.4–11.3 mm.
Sternum VII slightly longer than tergum VII; tergum VII subquadrate in lateral view; tergum VIII shorter than tergum VII; tergum IX fused with ectoproct. Callus cerci ovoid. Subgenitale bilobed apically; vela medium length; ventral impression absent; duct long and coiled.
Type material. Holotype ♂, China, Yunnan, Baoshan, Gaoligong National Nature Reserve, Nankang Station , light, Yunlan Jiang & Lu Yue ( CAU) . Paratypes: 99♂ 6♀, same as holotype ( CAU) .
Etymology. The specific epithet ‘ abdominata ’ refers to the extremely long male sterna VIII + IV in the new species.
Distribution. China (Yunnan).
Remarks. This species can be distinguished easily from C. ciliata by the pale crossveins, from C. orientalis by the markings on thorax and from C. obliquata by the presence of extremely long male sterna VIII + IV.
