Cladiopsocus belenensis n. sp. Male

Diagnosis. Belonging in species group “2”, subgroup 4, in the classification of Eertmoed (1986). Forewings smoked, with some spots on veins and at vein ends, no spur veins ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES8–14 ). Epiproct with posterior projection emarginated, between two lobes ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES8–14 ); paraproctal prong tapered, curved distally ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES8–14 ).

Color. Head ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES8–14 ) brown, vertex, and front dark brown; postclypeus, anteclypeus and genae brown, labrum, mandibles, labium and maxillae pale brown. Compound eyes dark brown, ocelli hyaline in a dark brown area. Antennae and maxillary palps pale brown. Pronotum pale brown, mesonotum and metanotum brown, thoracic pleura pale brown to cream, legs pale brown, tibia and tarsi dark brown. Forewing membrane hyaline, slightly smoked ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES8–14 ); veins brown, with brown spots at vein ends and at wing margin of areola postica. Hindwings hyaline, slightly smoked ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES8–14 ). Abdomen pale brown, clunium and hypandrium brown, phallosome brown; epiproct cream, with posterior projection brown, paraproct pale brown, paraproctal prong more pigmented proximally.

Morphology. As in diagnosis plus the following: head vertex emarginate, at the same level of the upper margin of the compound eyes ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES8–14 ); these large, with interommatidial setae. D is 0.57 the length of the head in front view. Forewings ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES8–14 ); membrane pterostigma with setae, without spur veins. Hypandrium triangular, broad, with medium sized setae and macrosetae. Phallosome narrow anteriorly, widened distally, external parameres rounded laterally; endophallic lobes broad, rounded apically, arms of internal parameres bow shaped, dilated distally, with ends close in the midline ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES8–14 ). Epiproct irregularly polygonal ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES8–14 ), slightly angulate posteriorly, with three macrosetae mesally and one near each postero-lateral corner, posterior setal field as illustrated. Paraprocts ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES8–14 ) with medium sized setae and macrosetae as illustrated; mesal prong stout, tapered; sensory fields with 15 trichobothria on basal rosettes ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES8–14 ).

Measurements. FW: 3150, HW: 2350, F: 700, T: 1275, t1: 450, t2: 50, t3: 100, ctt1: 24, f1: 400, Mx4: 170, IO: 240, D: 390, d: 250, IO/d: 0.96, PO: 0.64.

Specimens studied. Holotype male. COLOMBIA. Caquetá. Belén de Los Andaquíes, Resguardo Indígena La Esperanza , 1°36’19.18’’N: 75°56’12.46’’W, 844 m. 1.III.2017. J. Panche. Led light trap in forest canopy. MUSENUV slide code 2886 . GoogleMaps Paratype male, same data as the holotype .

Etymology. The specific epithet refers to the type locality: Belén de los Andaquíes.
