Type host: Serinus sulphuratus shelleyi (Neumann) ( Passeriformes : Fringillidae ) from Rwanda.

Diagnosis. Hypostome with 2 pairs of setae. Setae ve present. Setae vi and si situated almost on same transverse level. Sensillae SEa-type. Agenital and pseudanal series with 2 pairs of setae, each. Number of leg setae: coxae 2– 1–1–0, trochanters 0–0–0–0, femora 6–4–3–1, genua 4–4–3–2, tibiae 5–3–2–3. In larvae, antaxial and paraxial claws of leg I short, subequal, and sharp-ended.

Passeriformes (Fringillidae) : Serinus gularis (Smith) from Botswana [Tsessebe] ( Fain 1959), S. sulphuratus shelleyi (Neumann) from Rwanda [Eastern Prov., Rugege] ( Fain 1956b), S. frOntalis Reichenow from Rwanda [Southern Prov., Butare] ( Fain 1956a), S. mOzambicus (St. Muller) Rwanda ( Fain 1963d) and Cameroon [Galim] ( Fain et al. 1977) and S. burtOni tanganJicae Granvik from Rwanda ( Fain 1963d).

Laniidae : COrvinella cOrvina (Shaw) from Guinea [Kilisi] (Zabludovskaya 2002).
