Coccotrypes cardamomi Schaufuss, 1905: 8 View in CoL .

Distribution: Throughout the Oriental region from Sri Lanka and India to Borneo, China (SE), Seychelles, Taiwan. [4]

Hosts: Usually breeding in seeds of various broad-leaved trees, but also below bark, and in bracken fronds ( Pteridium aquilinum ) ( Polypodiaceae ) ( Gray 1972).

Biology: The biology of the species in seeds of Quercus myrsinaefolia (Fagaceae) is discussed by Ueda (1995).

Remarks: The evolution of the inbreeding genus Coccotrypes Eichhoff from outbreeding ancestors is discussed by Jordal et al. (2000, 2002), including information on several of the species found in Taiwan.
