Colliuris gundlachi Darlington, 1934: 122 View in CoL . Type locality: «Soleda[d] (near Cienfuegos), Cuba » (original citation).
Type material. Darlington original description was based on 35 specimens all from the type locality. I have not seen the holotype which is in MCZ but I have studied nine paratypes from the same institution.
Description. Same character states as for C. ellipticeps except for the followings. COLOR. Dorsal surface slightly darker in many specimens; anterior elytral spot much smaller, indistinct in most specimens. MICROSCULPTURE. Head and pronotum without meshes or microlines. HEAD. Eye proportionally larger, slightly more convex. Posterior supraorbital seta located at level of posterior edge of eye. ELYTRA. Striae impunctate or with small, more or less distinct punctures. MALE GENITALIA. Median lobe as illustrated ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 10 – 16 ).
Body length: 6.7–8.0 mm.
Geographical distribution. This species is known only from the type locality in Cuba.
Records. Cuba. CIENFUEGOS. Soledad (near Cienfuegos), various dates, Darlington (33, MCZ). Habitat. Darlington (1934: 123) reported taking this species "in a variety of damp places".
