6. Conicera maculifemoris sp. nov. ( Figs. 6A–G View FIGURES 6 )
Description. Male. Body ( Fig. 6A View FIGURES 6 ) length 1.1 mm. Frons dark brown, broader than high. Supra-antennal setae present. Lower interfrontal setae slightly shorter than upper interfrontal setae and the distance between each other equaled to that between upper interfrontal setae. Lower fronto-orbital setae very short, only 1/3 length of supra-antennal setae. First flagellomere ( Fig. 6B View FIGURES 6 ) brown, 0.13 mm long, with an aspect ratio of 1.86:1; arista 0.28 mm long, 2.15 times as long as that of first flagellomere. Palpus light brown, with short setae apically.
Thorax dark brown. Legs brown, except fore leg light brown. Fore femur with a brown spot pre-apically. Fore tibia with 10 small near-dorsal setulae, the uppermost being longer than the rest. Fore tarsus with posterodorsal setal palisade on all five tarsomeres. Mid femur without sense-organ. Wing length 0.95 mm. Costal index 0.39, costal ratio 1.43:1, costal setulae length 0.03 mm. Rs without basisetula. Veins brown, except A 1 +CuA 2 whitish gray. Membrane light grayish brown. Halter brown.
Abdominal tergites dark brown. Terminalia ( Figs. 6C–E View FIGURES 6 ) brown. Left and right surstyli very different. Left surstylus ( Figs. 6D, F View FIGURES 6 ) short, extending up and down. Right surstylus ( Figs. 6E, G View FIGURES 6 ) trapezoid.
Female. Unknown.
Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin words macula (spot) and femur (femur), indicating the character of fore leg.
Specimens examined. Holotype, ♂, Guangxi, Mashan, Guxue, 13-Aug-2011, Jianfeng Wang . Paratype, 2♂, Guangdong, Nanling, Wuzhishanzhen, 27-Jul-2011, Jianfeng Wang .
Distribution. China (Guangdong, Guangxi).
Remarks. The character of a brown spot in fore femur can instantly distinguish C. maculifemoris sp. nov. from any other described species of the genus. In the key of Disney (1990), the species runs to couplet 8, to C. torautensis Disney,1990 , but it differs from latter by brown spot of fore femur, aspect of first flagellomere and the shape of the surstyli.
