Coptodryas pubifer (Schedl) View in CoL comb.n.
Xyleborus pubifer Schedl, 1972: 200 View in CoL .
Hadrodemius pubifer (Schedl) View in CoL : Wood & Bright, 1992: 819.
Taxonomy: I have examined the holotype (NHML). It is clear that the species was incorrectly transferred to Hadrodemius by Wood & Bright (1992). The antenna has the second segment corneous on the anterior face, and a suture visible on the posterior face. The scutellum is not visible on the anterior declivital slope of the elytral bases. These and other characters ( Hulcr et al. 2007) indicate that the species should be transferred to the genus Coptodryas Hopkins.
Distribution: Brunei, Malaysia ( Sarawak).
New records: BRUNEI, Kuala Belalong FSC, 4o34’N, 115o7E, dipterocarp forest, 275 m, aerial FIT, 3.vii.1991 (N.Mawdsley) (1); as previous except: 260 m, 16.vii.1991 (1) (NHML).
