Etymology. The species name is to honor of Claudiney Biral dos Santos who provided the specimens studied here.
Diagnosis. Eye bridge with three rows of facets; eyes dorsally separated by 1.3 diameters of facet and close medially; internal arm of gonostylus without small apical stripes; external arm of gonostylus with small external median lobe; aedeagus, in dorsal view with format of arrow, with pointed apex directed upward;
Description. Male. Head ( Fig. 3A, B, C, D, E View FIGURE 3 ): wider than long, 1.3 times wider than long; eye bridge with three facet rows; eyes dorsally separated by 1.3 facet diameters and close medially; clypeal patch of alveoli subrectangular; epipharynx with 10 to 16 small spiniform setae at distal end; antenna ( Fig. 3F View FIGURE 3 ) with scape 1.8 times the length of pedicel; palpus formula ( Fig. 3G View FIGURE 3 ): 1.0:2.2:2.2:2.6. Thorax ( Fig. 4A View FIGURE 4 ): sensory area with microtrichia basal to thoracic gland. Wing ( Figs. 4C, D View FIGURE 4 ): radial fork at the same level of medial fork. Terminalia ( Figs. 5A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H,I View FIGURE 5 ): gonocoxal apodeme plate-like, narrower than the greatest width of ejaculatory apodeme; internal arm of gonostylus without small apical stripes; external arm of gonostylus with small external median lobe; hypopod with two rows of big alveoli; apex of aedeagus, dorsally, with format of arrow; apex of aedeagus pointed, directed upward; ejaculatory apodeme approximately 0.7 times the length of aedeagus, basally semicircular, with the same width of the apex of aedeagus; aedeagal sheat suboval, base narrower than apex; distal margin curve.
