Type material. Holotype male: Brazil, BA [Bahia], Itabuna, Malaise [trap], 30.I.1999, without name of collector ( MZFS) ; Paratypes: 01 male same data as holotype ( MZFS) , 01 male, BA [Bahia], Una, Ceplac, Est [Estaç„o] Exp [Experimental] Lemos Maia ( ESMAI), 17.III.2000, without name of collector ( MZFS) ; 01 male, ES [Espírito Santo], 2010, without name of collector ( MZFS) .
Etymology. The specific name “ triangularis ” is from Latin (= triangular) and refers to the format of the apex of aedeagus.
Diagnosis. Eye bridge with three rows of facets; eyes close not joined; internal arm of gonostylus without small apical stripes; external arm of gonostylus with small external median lobe at apex, hook-shaped; aedeagus, in dorsal view, triangular with pointed apex directed upward; ejaculatory apodeme approximately 0.5 times the length of aedeagus, basally semicircular.
Description. Male. Head ( Fig. 6A View FIGURE 6 ): wider than long, 1.2 times wider than long; eye bridge with three facet rows; eyes close not joined; clypeal patch of alveoli subrectangular; epipharynx with 10 small spiniform setae at distal end; antenna with scape 2.0 times the length of pedicel; palpus formula: 1.0:2.3:2.3:2,8. Wing ( Fig. 6B View FIGURE 6 ): medial fork slightly basal to radial fork. Terminalia ( Fig. 6C, D, E, F, G, H View FIGURE 6 ): gonocoxal apodeme plate-like, narrower than the greatest width of ejaculatory apodeme; internal arm of gonostylus without small apical stripes; external arm of gonostylus with small external apical lobe, hook-shaped; hypopod basally with one row of big alveoli and apically with two rows of big alveoli; aedeagus triangular apically with pointed apex upward; ejaculatory apodeme approximately 0.7 times the length of aedeagus, basally semicircular, with approximately the same width of the apex of aedeagus.
