Diagnostic characters. The male of Corynoneura boraceia can be differentiated from others species with a distinct group of sensilla chaetica on the antennal apex by the lateral sternapodeme concave and transverse sternapodeme rounded.

Etymology. The specific epithet refers to the Boracéia Biological Station (EBB), where the holotype was collected. The name is treated as a noun in apposition.

Description

Male (n = 1)

Wing length 0.61 mm.

Color. Thorax brownish. Abdominal tergites I-IV whitish, other tergites and genitalia brownish.

Head. AR = 0.32. Antenna with 8 flagellomeres, apical flagellomere 150 µm. Flagellomeres with more than one row of setae each. Antennal apex with 15 sensilla ( Fig. 3A). Eyes pubescent.

Thorax. Antepronotal lobes dorsally tapering.

Wing. Clavus/wing length 0.19. Anal lobe absent.

Legs. Missing.

Hypopygium ( Figs 3B–C). Tergite IX with 4 setae. Laterosternite without seta. Superior volsella absent. Inferior volsella slightly rounded at some distance before the apex of gonocoxite. Aedeagal lobe short and triangular. Transverse sternapodeme rounded, lateral sternapodeme concave. Phallapodeme oral margin sclerotized, attached in the caudal apex of the sternapodeme. Megaseta long.

Remarks. C. boraceia sp. n. was collected with a Malaise trap in the Atlantic Forest of São Paulo State, Brazil. See remarks of C. diogo .
